On December 25, 2020, Anthony Warner detonated his Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) in downtown Nashville, TN. The explosion crippled critical infrastructure, and damaged historical buildings and vehicles. Experts have labeled this explosion the fourth largest in U.S. History leaving evidence scattered over 36 city blocks covering 25+ buildings, four miles of roadway, one mile of riverbank, and over one million square feet of parking lot. Over the next five days, the FBI led the investigation through a unified command spanning nine agencies and over 350 personnel.
InfraGard MidTN brings you FBI Special Agent Bomb Technician Adriaan Valk and FBI SSA Tammi Laskowski. SA Valk and SSA Laskowski responded to the crime scene on Christmas morning and were there for each step of the investigation during those five days. Their presentation will provide insight into the bombing, both from a technical perspective and case agent viewpoint, as well as discussing lessons learned.
